PM arrives in London

LONDON: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob arrived in London early this morning en route to Washington D.C. to attend the ASEAN-US Special Summit from May 12 to 13.

To receive him at the Luton Airport, an hour's drive from London, was Malaysian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Zakri Jaafar while the deputy high commissioner and heads of departments of Malaysian agencies based in London were on hand to receive the prime minister at his hotel.

The prime minister, on a few hours visit, is scheduled to attend the Pahang Royal Weave Exhibition held at the office of the High Commission in Belgrave Square, where he is expected to have an audience with the Queen, Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah and see exquisite pieces of textiles from his place of origin.

The one-week exhibition is part of the London Craft Week and it is debuting pieces of woven fabrics, clothes worn by Her Majesty during her installation and ceremonies at the palace and other pieces such as the samping as part of the London Craft Week.

Before leaving for Washington, Ismail Sabri will meet Keluarga Malaysia in London at a Hari Raya get-together. This is the first visit by Ismail Sabri since holding the post as the 9th Prime Minister of Malaysia.
