KOTA KINABALU: The Trilateral Cooperation Agreement between Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines will be reviewed to strengthen defence and security in Sabah waters, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
"The government is also aware of the importance of cooperation between neighbouring countries in controlling borders which are now being tightened," he said during the Jelajah Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia at the Sabah International Convention Centre, here, today.
Also present was Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
Ismail Sabri added that the people around Pagalungan, Nabawan could travel to Kalimantan and get their border crossing pass at the Pagalungan Immigration Control Post, Nabawan.
"They no longer have to travel more than 100 km to Keningau to get the pass which is now available at the Pagalungan Immigration Control Post, Nabawan.
"To ensure the 'no wrong door policy', the renewal of Long-Term Visit Pass and Temporary Working Visit Pass (PLKS), can now be done at all immigration offices in the state."
Ismail Sabri said the government is always sensitive to the grievances of Malaysian families including the issue of unreasonable increases in flight ticket prices and delayed flight times during festive seasons.
He said that there will be discussions with relevant parties so Malaysians from Sabah no longer have to worry when they want to return to their hometowns during the next festive season.
On the Jelajah Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia in Sabah, Ismail Sabri said it is part of the government's efforts to fulfil the aspirations of the people who want their well-being and peace to be guaranteed and welfare protected.
"I hope the Sabah Malaysian Family will take advantage of the facilities provided and appreciate the true meaning of the Malaysian Family Aspirations which guarantees the harmony and well-being of all."
