1,844 new Covid-19 cases, 2,005 recoveries on June 3

KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry logged 1,844 new Covid-19 cases and 2,005 recoveries, nationwide, on June 3.

The ministry's data-sharing website CovidNow reported that currently, the total count for coronavirus stood at 4,512,040 cases and 4,453,313 recoveries cumulatively.

There was one death reported in Sarawak yesterday, which takes the current cumulative death toll to 35,861.

At the moment, the Covid-19 active cases nationwide stood at 23,046.

The ministry has also conducted around 41,778 Covid-19 tests daily, with 4.4 per cent positivity rate returns, said the portal.

On an average of seven days, the ministry reports that 1,579 cases are transmitted sporadically, while eight cases are transmitted through a cluster.

This saw a total of 95.6 per cent of them or 22,033 patients placed under home quarantine, 4.2 per cent or 961 patients hospitalised and 0.1 per cent, equivalent to 17 patients ventilated and treated in the intensive care units (ICU).

However, there are 10 Covid-19 patients who are also receiving treatment in the ICU, but are not ventilated.

The remaining 0.1 per cent or 25 Covid-19 patients, have been placed at Covid-19 quarantine and treatment centres (PKRC).

Currently, some 65.5 per cent of hospital beds, nationwide are being occupied, while 55.9 per cent of ICU beds, 36.4 per cent of ventilators and 9.2 per cent of PKRC beds are being utilised for Covid-19 treatment purposes.
