ALOR GAJAH: A man was traumatised when, for the second time, he found a python coiled in a toilet bowl in his home in Taman Angkasa Nuri, Durian Tunggal, here, late yesterday afternoon.
The 2.1m-long python, which weighed 5kg, however, was snared by a Civil Defence Force team as it sought to escape.
According to Dayana Sazali, 28, during the incident, her husband, Ahmad Khaidir Ahmad Abdullah, 29, wanted to use the toilet adjacent to the kitchen when he was startled by the python.
Following the incident, she said her husband was traumatised about using the toilet at home.
This was the second time a snake was found in the toilet of their home.
"My husband closed the lid of the toilet bowl before calling the Civil Defence Force emergency line.
"While waiting for the team to arrive, both of us monitored the snake's movement to see whether it emerged from the toilet bowl or re-entered the toilet," she said when contacted here today.
Dayana said the first incident of a snake in their home was during Ramadan last year. It escaped into the drainage while the Civil Defence Force team was trying to capture it.
Alor Gajah Civil Defence district operations, disaster and logistics officer Abdul Hadi Baharom said they received the emergency call at 6.52pm.
"A team of four went to the location and caught the snake within 15 minutes.
"We believe the python came from a ditch behind the residence and got lost in the water drainage," he said.
