GEORGE TOWN: A woman who has yet to get over the death of her son four months ago lost another son to a road accident this morning.
Mashitah Md Isa's third child, Shazril Haikal, 20, was killed in a road accident in March in Kedah.
Today, her eldest son Mohd Shazwan Hakim Mohd Abdul Sani, 22, died.
The 44-year-old housewife said Shazwan Hakim's twin brother, Mohd Shazwan Hafiz, was also involved in the accident this morning.
Shazwan Hafiz is being treated at the Penang Hospital and is in a stable condition.
"Shazwan Hafiz and Shazwan Hakim were on different motorcycles.
"We had just gone on a holiday to Cameron Highlands on Tuesday and Shazwan Hakim bought gifts for all his nephews and nieces, including Upin and Ipin bolsters as two of the children were also twins.
"He was very close to his family. Wherever he went, he made sure to bring back gifts for all of us," she said, adding that he would be buried in Batu Maung here.
Mashitah said Shazwan Hakim got engaged five months ago.
Three motorcyclists were killed and three others seriously injured in the accident at about 4.40am on the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Highway here.
It is understood the accident involved several motorcycles and cars.
The others who died were Muhamad Eizreel Muhamad Roszadi, 25, and Ahmad Haikal Naif Ahmad Nazrul, 19.
Eizreel's mother, Shahiril Rohaiza Ramli, 46, responded to what she described as people's "snide remarks".
"They are saying things without taking into consideration our feelings about losing our children.
"My son married at a young age and has two children, aged 4 and 8. He was working as a mechanic at a motorcycle workshop in Bukit Gedung, Bayan Baru. I understand his wife is pregnant with their third child.
"Eizreel was the eldest of two siblings and loved motorcycles. He could build a motorcycle from scratch.
"He was a good and responsible child and was always concerned about his family."
Shahiril Rohaiza said about 6pm yesterday, Eizreel stopped by her house in Kampung Tersusun, Sungai Ara and spent time chit-chatting with his sibling.
She was at work at the time.
"Eizreel was always busy with work but he made it a point to stop by. The last time we spoke for a long time was during Hari Raya Aidiladha.
"I advised him to ride his motorcycle slowly. I know all his friends. They are nice children who respect the elderly," she added.
Ahmad Najwan Ikhwan Ahmad Nazrul, 20, said his brother Ahmad Haikal Naif had just told the family yesterday that he wanted to be buried next to his grandfather's grave in Balik Pulau.
He said he received a call but did not answer it.
"After that, I was told my brother was killed in an accident.
"It dawned on me that he (Ahmad Haikal Naif) recently told us he had dreamt about his dead friends.
"He also told us that when he died, he wanted to be buried near our grandfather's grave. He said it would be easier for those who wanted to visit our grandfather's grave to visit his as well," Ahmad Najwan said.
