Tok Bali to become Kelantan growth centre

KOTA BARU: The government aims to make Tok Bali here Kelantan's new growth centre that will attract RM2.3 billion in investments.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said two projects — the Tok Bali Industry Park and Tok Bali Integrated Fisheries Park — are undertaken by the East Coast Economic Region Development Council.

"The projects will provide jobs to 4,200 people and create 270 entrepreneurial opportunities for the local population."

Ismail Sabri said this at the launch of Jelajah Aspirasi Keluarga Malaysia Kelantan at Sultan Muhammad IV stadium here today.

Also present were Multimedia and Communications Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa and Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob.

Ismail Sabri said the RM7.7 billion Central Spine Road, stretching 191km from Gua Musang to Kuala Krai, is expected to be completed in 2026.

"This will make it easier for Kelantan people to travel and will also improve the socio-economic activities in the areas.

"A project involving the construction of 12 health clinics and quarters has been carried out in Kelantan this year, and two more projects will be carried out in Gua Musang and Bachok," he added.

He said Kelantan would also benefit from the East Coast Rail Link, which connects Kota Baru to the Klang Valley.

"The upgrading of Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Pengkalan Chepa will increase passenger capacity from 1.5 million to 4 million," he said.
