PETALING JAYA: The Home Ministry will be seeking feedback from the police over the issue of sending problematic police personnel from the Peninsula to Sabah and Sarawak.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said that the ministry was consulting with Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, to get more information.
"This matter has been announced but we have not yet made a decision. I need to ask the IGP (for more information).
"We will see later what the next course of action is," he told reporters after officiating the World Human-Trafficking Day Celebration at the Central Zone Women's Shelter in Sri Damansara here today.
Also present was the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Rina Harun.
Selangor deputy police chief, Datuk S Sasikala Devi, sparked controversy recently when she said that nine police personnel involved in blackmailing a businessman in Selangor have been transferred to Sabah and Sarawak.
This generated heated discussions over why Sabah and Sarawak is being used as "dumping grounds" for problematic civil servants.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor yesterday said that the state should have been informed and the issue discussed beforehand as he is the State Security Committee chairman.
