IPOH: Perak Election Commission (EC) director will seek an audience with Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah to present the current result of the state's 15th General Election (GE15).
Mohd Nazri Ismail is expected to meet Sultan Nazrin at Istana Kinta here at 10am.
There is no clear winner in the Perak state poll as no party has obtained a simple majority from the seats contested in the GE15.
Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) did not have enough votes to form a state government, according to the official result.
PN has 26 seats, PH has 24 seats while BN has nine seats. A total of 30 seats are required for a simple majority to form the Perak state government.
Earlier today, PN was considering collaborating with BN to form the state government.
Perak PN deputy chairman Razman Zakaria said the coalition had the largest number of state seats, securing 26 out of 59, just short of a simple majority.
The Perak Pas commisioner reiterated the coalition's stance of rejecting cooperation with Pakatan Harapan (PH), especially with its chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and DAP.
PN came out tops in the state seats of Pengkalan Hulu, Kenering, Selama, Kubu Gajah, Baru Kurau, Titi Serong, Kuala Kurau, Alor Pongsu, Gunong Semanggol, Selinsing, Kuala Sepetang and Changkat Jering.
It also won in Trong, Kamunting, Chenderoh, Lubok Merbau, Manjoi, Bukit Chandan, Manong, Sungai Manik, Kampung Gajah, Pasir Panjang, Pangkor, Changkat Jong, Slim and Bota.
