BATANG KALI: Dozens of media practitioners have gathered at the site of a landslide incident close to a campsite at the Father's Organic Farm, in Gohtong Jaya here.
They arrived at the scene as early as 8am today after receiving information about the incident early this morning.
A Bernama check found rescuers working hard to locate victims still buried in the landslide.
As at 2pm today, 16 victims were confirmed dead and their bodies were sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital while 17 others are still missing.
Meanwhile, 53 victims have been rescued, with seven of them injured and sent to the Sungai Buloh Hospital and Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital.
Home Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail was at the scene to witness the search and rescue operations. – Bernama
