Motorcyclist killed in Jalan Genting-Batang Kali accident

HULU SELANGOR: A 41-year-old motorcyclist was killed in an accident involving a lorry on Jalan Genting-Batang Kali, near Sungai Kedondong here yesterday.

Hulu Selangor police chief Superintendent Ahmad Faizal Tahrim said initial investigations showed the motorcyclist fell and entered into the path of the lorry on the opposite lane in the 6.45pm incident.

The lorry was driven by a 40-year-old man.

"The motorcyclist reportedly fell by himself, skidded into the opposite lane and crashed towards the lorry's right rear wheel," he said in a statement, adding that the lorry was travelling from Batang Kali towards Genting Highlands.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and was later sent to the Kuala Kubu Bharu Hospital's Forensic Unit for post-mortem.

Both vehicles were detained by the Hulu Selangor Traffic Division for further investigation and the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Faizal urged any witnesses to the accident to go to the police to help with investigation.
