Negri Sembilan local councils to prepare anti graft plan

SEREMBAN: All local authorities (PBTs) in Negri Sembilan were asked to prepare an Organisational Anti-Graft Plan (OACP) for full implementation by the end of this year.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the OACP was important to enable the Negri Sembilan Anti-Graft Plan to be fully implemented at all levels of administration in the state.

Aminuddin said Seremban City Council (MBS) was the first local authority to have the OACP.

"I have asked all the relevant local authorities to prepare for the implementation of the OACP so that the anti-graft plan can be fully executed at all levels of administration.

"It is important to implement it as soon as possible since the state registered high outside investments. Such a plan will be able to give a clearer picture.

This is to realise the slogan of, 'Negri Sembilan, a state free of graft and corruption," he said.

Aminuddin was speaking in the closing ceremony for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) workshop on understanding and compliance of Section 17A, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act (MACC) here yesterday.

There were 700 participants, among them were the Negri Sembilan DPMM members.

Aminuddin added that the state government was very committed to fighting and eradicating corruption through the ARNS plan that provides 58 long and short term initiatives.

He also noted that the people's confidence and belief must be prioritised through the delivery of services that were of quality and integrity.

"The increase in productivity and delivery of services that are responsive, efficient and fast will definitely improve the credibility of the state government's administration thus enhancing the image of public services.

"This cannot be achieved with the participation of only one side, all the stakeholders must close ranks and work together while also being determined in fighting graft, corrupt practices and abuse of power so that it can be decreased and eradicated," he said.

Aminuddin expressed hope that all sides and quarters including entrepreneurs and businessmen will band together in understanding and realising that graft, corruption and abuse of power is detrimental to all.

"The act of graft, corruption is not only against religion, but it can also destroy a person and another person's future," he said.
