'Good morning. I'm taking the bus to work' - Anthony Loke

KUALA LUMPUR: Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook took to Facebook this morning to share that he was taking the public transport, instead of being chauffeur-driven to work.

The Seremban Member of Parliament (MP) put up the post around 10am that he was taking the T851 bus to work.

"Good morning. I am on the T851 bus going to Parliament to answer questions on the feeder bus in Dewan Rakyat," he wrote.

Loke was referring to the pilot project which provides a free shuttle bus service from Kuala Lumpur Sentral (KL Sentral) to Parliament that was launched yesterday.

He said that the aim of the pilot project was to highlight and promote the use of public transport among members of the public while also addressing the congestion problem at Parliament building.

He added that such a pilot project was to provide an alternative means of transportation to Parliament for MPs, those who work in the Parliament building, officers and personnel from government ministries who had work matters there as well as members of the media.

The 45-year-old Loke revealed that the buses would make one stop at the car park next to Botanical Gardens before proceeding to the Parliament building.

The shuttle bus service operates from 8am until Parliament adjourns for the day.
