Melaka Crocodile and Recreational Park aims to attract 150,000 visitors this year

MELAKA: The Melaka Crocodile and Recreational Park, an Artac Group subsidiary, aims to attract 150,000 tourists this year.

Artac Group executive chairman, Tan Sri Prof Dr Abdul Rahim Tamby Chik said the expected increase would be due to the introduction of new attractions and facility improvements.

"The new attractions include an aviary called 'Lovebird Paradise', with 70 small cockatoos from Africa," he told reporters after releasing lovebirds here today.

He said the lovebirds required special licences from the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan), adding that the park targeted to breed over 500 lovebirds.

"The park also allocated RM200,000 to RM300,000 this year to upgrade facilities for the comfort and safety of visitors," he said, adding that the haunted house was scheduled to reopen soon.

The park, he said, was looking for new investors to bring a unique twist to the haunted house using three-dimensional technology. — BERNAMA
