KUALA LUMPUR: The Parliament should hold a special sitting to discuss the RM3 billion leakage which detailed in the Auditor General's Report.
Bayan Baru member of parliament Sim Tze Tzin said the soft copy of the report, which was distributed to the MPs, could not be accessed.
"I want to request for Parliament to hold a special sitting to debate on the RM3 billion leakage. The prime minister (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) reported on the leakage of RM3 billion in the Auditor General's Report, and it was distributed to the MPs as a file in a thumb drive which most of us could not access to read.
"Previously, we received a hard copy version of the report to read. I hope we can have something similar," he said during the debate session of the committee level 2023 Supply Bill at Parliament here, today.
Sim added that the special sitting should also include the National Audit Department.
Previously, Anwar said during his 2023 Budget speech that the 2020 and 2021 Auditor General's Report revealed RM3 billion in leakages, including from loss of publicmoney, wastages and improper payments.
