Dr Noor Hisham to retire on April 21

KUALA LUMPUR: The invaluable services of Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah will soon come to an end as he undergoes mandatory retirement on April 21.

The matter came to light when the Health Ministry's Food Security and Safety Department uploaded a post about his impending retirement a few days ago.

Dr Noor Hisham, who turns 60 on that day, has been in the government service for 35 years.

The department said it organised a meeting for the Malaysian Council of Food Analysts, which coincided with the last meeting chaired by Dr Noor Hisham as the council's chairman.

According to the post, a special session was carried out in appreciation of his sacrifices, dedication and contributions to the Malaysian Council of Food Analysts.

"He also reminded us that in our work, we must be honest and sincere, do our best and place our faith and full trust in God," the post read.

A local news portal reported that he was looking forward to spending more time with his family in retirement.

When asked about his future plans, Dr Noor Hisham said: "Let me retire first, and I will share my experience with all of you later on."
