Bangladeshi worker dies after getting stuck in factory machinery

SHAH ALAM: A Bangladeshi worker was killed when he got stuck in a fiber pulling machine at a factory in Jalan Kemuning here today.

The victim identified as Md Suruj Ali, 21, was pronounced dead at the location due to severe injuries.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department operation centre chief Zulfikar Jaffar said it received a distress call at 7.06am.

A team of 10 firefighters and officers were dispatched to the location from the Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Department.

"Based on initial information, the man was n stuck in a fiber pulling machine at work, and the Fire and Rescue Department took 10 minutes to extricate him from the machine.

"He sustained severe injuries and a medical team from the Health Ministry later confirmed his death," he said in a statement today. The man's remains have been handed over to the police.
