KUALA LUMPUR: Proton Holdings Bhd (Proton) today officially launched its first mild-hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV) model, the X90, in conjunction with the company's 40th anniversary.
This marks the brand's entry into the new energy vehicle (NEV) market.
The X90 is the national automaker's third sports utility vehicle (SUV) in the X series model line-up, priced from RM123,800 to RM152,800.
The X90 comprises four variants - Standard Executive, Premium and Flagship with a seven-seater configuration.
The price on the road before insurance in Peninsular Malaysia for Standard starts from RM123,800. For the Executive variant, the price begins at RM130,800.
The Premium variant is priced at RM144,800 while the flagship variant starts at RM152,800.
All X90 models run on the new mild-hybrid setup which pairs a 48V Electric Motor Synergy (EMS) System with the 1.5L TGDi engine and a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.
The X90 also features three new class safety systems that consists of rear collision warning, traffic sign information and rear cross traffic alert.
