In a statement today (May 8), JAWI said the programme, to be held from 10am to 12noon at Dataran Merdeka here, is expected to be graced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
"A total of 120 mosques and Friday suraus, including in the FT of Putrajaya and Labuan, together with several of our strategic partners are coming together to organise this programme which targets to see some 20,000 attendees.
"With this programme, we aim at forging closer ties with the people in the three territories, besides strengthening the cooperation and brotherhood among mosque committees in the FT," it said.
The statement said it is also to give the less fortunate as well as tourists the opportunity to taste various Hari Raya dishes in the spirit of goodwill and unity, as well as to promote the mosques in the FT as a centre for unifying the ummah.
There will be 120 booths offering various kinds of dishes for the guests to enjoy with the concept of first come, first served. – BERNAMA
