MARAN: A dormitory was partially damaged after a student's locker at SMK Felda Jengka 2 near here caught fire today.
Pahang Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Zulfadli Zakaria said no one was in the room during the fire and no injuries were reported in the 7.15am incident.
"The department was alerted about 7.18am before seven firemen from the Jengka fire station were deployed to the scene. The locker which caught fire was located on the first floor of the building.
"The wooden locker was damaged and the wall was partially left with burn marks. Firemen inspected the ceiling above the locker to ensure the fire had been completely doused," he said, adding that the damage resulting from the fire was less than 10 percent.
He said investigations were underway to establish the cause of the fire.
It is learnt that no one was in the dormitory during the incident as the students had gathered for an assembly.
