Johor sultan officiates launch of Damansara Specialist Hospital 2

KUALA LUMPUR: KPJ Healthcare Berhad's new Damansara Specialist Hospital 2 (DSH2) was officiated by the Sultan of Johor, Sultan lbrahim Sultan Iskandar today.

KPJ Healthcare Berhad chairman Datuk Md Arif Mahmood said the new hospital incorporates and capitalises on the power of digital technology which would help the group deliver the best care and services.

"Today marks a significant milestone for the group. This is a testament to our commitment to continually raise the standards of care, in line with our purpose of 'Care for Life'.

"We are confident that with this launch, we will continue to lead in delivering the best care and services that have been entrusted to us by our shareholders, patients and customers.

"Complemented by our well-trained and experience staff, nurses and consultants, we will ensure that our patients and customers experience an unmatched level of care and services."

He added that the new hospital would help the group strengthen their leading position as the largest network of private specialist hospitals in the country and also extend it further to international patients and customers.

The hospital has been operating since its soft launch on Sept 1 last year, with a focus on specialisations of the brain, nerves and spine, heart and lung, bone joint and spine, advanced laparoscopical surfical and interventional radiology.

Currently, Md Arif said, the new hospital has opened 60 out of its 330 beds (full capacity) and has a 60 per cent occupancy rate.

KPJ Healthcare Berhad Officer in Charge Norhaizam Mohammad said the new hospital sets new benchmarks with features that will be incorporated throughout KPJ Healthcare's network of hospitals.

"This state-of-the-art facililty is a testament to KPJ Healthcare's commitment to being at the forefront of healthcare in the nation, as well as the region, further establishing Malaysia as a world-class medical hub.

"With the seamless integration of advanced technology, artificial intelligence and big data, together with our vast number of experienced consultants, we shall provide more preventive care using precision diagnostics and deliver individualised patient care in the near future.

"We will also further extend our superior hospitality beyond our traditional healthcare services."

Also present at the launch were Johor Menteri Besar and chairman of Johor Corporation (JCorp) Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Johor State Secretary Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani and JCorp president and chief executive Datuk Syed Mohamed lbrahim.

The Sultan of Johor was also given a tour of the hospital after the launch.
