SUBANG: Personal attacks issued by Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties' leaders should be ignored as they are not reflective of the coalition's official stance.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is also BN chairman, said such opinions were not endorsed.
Also, Zahid said there was no need for leaders within the coalition to come up with negative statements, which he deemed as unwelcomed, in light of the nearing state polls.
"We do not endorse personal opinions. Same goes for the component parties in BN, we should not be entertaining individual views like that.
"It will only create the perception that there is no unity within the coalition. So there's no need to take interest in it.
"We only hold on to the official stance of top leaderships of each party, in BN and Pakatan Harapan (PH)," he said, after launching the 23rd Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) National Academy Association (FBINAA) Asia Pacific Retaining Conference, here, today.
Yesterday, MCA Youth secretary-general Daniel Wa urged the party to sit out the elections and not assist candidates who have become arrogant after befriending DAP.
Zahid, however, thanked the top leaderships of BN's MIC, MCA and Parti Bersatu Rakyat Sabah which had given their commitment to face the state elections together with their other political partners.
"The cooperation between BN and PH is at its best now," he said.
