KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah expressed the hope that Malaysia and Saudi Arabia will further enhance and strengthen their bilateral relations and unity of the ummah.
His Majesty expressed this at the Afternoon Tea Ceremony organised by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Mina, yesterday.
Also present was the Regent of Pahang Tengku Mahkota Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah.
"In the ceremony which lasted for an hour, His Majesty exchanged views with His Highness Prince Mohammed on various matters, including the bilateral relations that have been closely and established between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia," according to a statement on the Istana Negara Facebook today.
Al-Sultan Abdullah also congratulated Prince Mohammed for the thorough preparation by the Saudi Arabian government for successfully receiving two million pilgrims for this year's Haj season, which is the largest number since the Covid-19 pandemic struck.
The meeting was also a manifestation of the close relationship between the two countries. -- BERNAMA
