SEPANG: The Transport Ministry has entrusted the authorities to conduct a detailed investigation into an incident at the international arrival hall of the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 involving a government leader.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke said he had not received any further reports on the incident.
"I believe that the airport authorities will conduct a detailed investigation into what happened and, of course, safety protocols must be adhered to.
"However, we leave it to the aviation authorities to investigate thoroughly," Loke said at a press conference after the launch of the MyAirline student discount programme here today.
Earlier, a portal reported that a commotion occurred at KLIA Terminal 1 when a minister broke into the international arrival hall to "rescue" a Chinese national, who was detained by Immigration officers upon entering Malaysia.
According to the portal, the minister is alleged to have used his authority to enter the arrival hall upon learning about the detention.
