Massive jam prompts out-of-state motorists to use inner roads on their return journey

KUALA KRAI: Kelantanese folk who returned to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha with their families here, have started to travel back to their respective states of residence today.

Many of these out-of-state motorists began their journey about 4pm and this led to massive crawl on several major roads in the state.

Among them were Jalan Kuala Krai-Machang at Kampung Telekong and Jalan Kota Baru-Kuala Krai at Kampung Bukit Sireh.

To avoid the traffic jam, some of the motorists even diverted into the inner village roads as a shortcut.

These routes were known to pass through villages such as Kampung Chenulang and Kampung Sungai Durian.

As of 8pm, traffic was still slow moving in Kok Lanas, Labok and Keroh.

It is learnt more than 1,000 motorists left Kelantan today while the rest were expected to travel back tomorrow.
