Do not undermine youths with dirty politics - Adam Adli

KANGAR: Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Adam Adli Abd Halim yesterday advised all parties involved in the upcoming state elections on Aug 12 not to engage in dirty politics that could undermine the interests of young voters and potentially lead to a loss of their interest in the voting process.

He emphasised the importance of avoiding toxic politics, such as making accusations and hurling harsh insults, particularly for first-time voters.

Instead, he urged everyone to present politics as a positive platform for progress.

"All those directly involved in the state elections, including political parties, political leaders, and myself, should campaign in a healthy manner that benefits the youth," he said.

He said this during the launch of the Perlis level National Sports Day, where he was joined by Perlis Youth and Sports Exco Muhammad Azmir Azizan, Indera Kayangan incumbent state assemblyman Gan Ay Ling, and Perlis State Youth and Sports Department director Nizam Mat Daud.

As the chief of Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK), Adam Adli stressed the need to provide young voters with positive political experiences.

He also encouraged young voters to fulfil their duty during the state elections, as it presents a significant opportunity to express their opinions through their votes.

"I hope that young voters will make informed comparisons and select their candidates in a healthy manner," he added. — BERNAMA
