SEKINCHAN: Pakatan Harapan (PH) has nominated Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari to be retained as the Selangor menteri besar should it win the upcoming state polls.
PH chairman and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Amirudin had done a good job administering the state, which saw high-value investments brought here.
"The latest, Elon Musk has agreed to set up Tesla (Inc) headquarters in Cyberjaya (in Sepang district).
"This is the first official announcement on this. He (Amirudin) is also shocked," he said in his speech at the state-level Sentuhan Agro Madani programme at MSekin Wonderland, Sekinchan today.
When met later, Amirudin said he was honoured for the trust given to him and pledged to continue working hard for the state.
"This is the first time I'm hearing about it (being retained as Selangor menteri besar).
"We will work hard in the upcoming elections and it must be reflected in significant wins," he told reporters.
The Selangor PH chairman and Sungai Tua assemblyman was sworn in as the 16th Selangor Menteri Besar at Istana Alam Shah on June 19, 2018.
He was 38 when he took the oath of office before the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
The Election Commission (EC) has fixed Aug 12 as polling day and July 29 as the nomination day for the elections in six states.
A total 245 state seats will be contested, including 56 in Selangor, 36 in Kedah, Kelantan with 45; Terengganu, 32; Penang, 40; and Negri Sembilan, 36.
