Johari was hardworking and compassionate, says Bentong Wanita Umno chief

KLANG: Pahang state executive council member Datuk Seri Johari Harun was a hardworking and compassionate leader who always took his duties seriously.

Bentong Wanita Umno division chief Datuk Roslin Abdul Rahman said the Pelangai assemblyman, who was among the 10 people killed in the plane crash in Elmina, Shah Alam today, was a vital part of the party's election machinery in the recently-concluded state elections.

She described him as an unsung hero, and urged party members to honour him by continuing his work.

"I am very sad that we lost someone of his calibre.

"We worked tirelessly in Kelantan, aiding Umno's campaign in the recent state elections," said Roslin when at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital here tonight.

She said Johari was determined to help the party to win the trust of voters again, and to strengthen the people's confidence towards the party.

She said she would continue Johari's hard work, while ensuring the Pelangai state was retained by the party if a by-election was called.

"I expect we will be busy with our campaign plans to ensure that Umno's influence remains strong in Pahang, especially in Pelangai in the event of a state seat by-election.

"Despite his death, I will remain steadfast to continue the responsibilities that he had shouldered in honour of him."
