KUALA LUMPUR: The government's contribution rate under the Self-Employment Social Security Scheme (SKSPS) will be increased by 90 per cent with an allocation of RM100 million.

During the 2024 Budget, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the remaining 10 per cent would be contributed by the operating company on behalf of gig workers.

Regarding the i-Saraan and i-Suri initiatives under the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Anwar said the government matching contribution incentive would increase to RM500 per year limited to RM5,000 for life.

"The government matching contribution limit under the EPF i-Suri programme will be increased to RM300 per year, limited to RM3,000 for life," he said.

He said Housewives' Social Security Scheme (SKSSR) would continue with an allocation of RM50 million, benefitting more than 400,000 female housewives registered under e-Kasih.

"The i-Sayang programme will be expanded to also allow the wife to transfer two per cent of the employee share contribution to the husband," he added.
