KUALA LUMPUR: National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) borrowers who settle their loans will get discounts of up to 15 per cent.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said a 10 per cent discount would be available of the overall remaining loan amount, as well as those settling at least half the total amount of their loans in a lump sum payment.
Meanwhile, a 15 per cent discount is available to borrowers opting for repayment through salary deductions or scheduled bank transfers.
"Debts must be settled. In building responsible habits among borrowers, the government has agreed to offer discounts for PTPTN repayment from Oct 14 to March 31, next year," he told the Dewan Rakyat during the tabling of the 2024 Budget here today.
