'Malaysia Stands with Palestine' rally to be held at Axiata Arena

KUALA LUMPUR: A solidarity rally to express solidarity with Palestinians amidst the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict will be held at the Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil tomorrow night.

The 'Malaysia Stands with Palestine' rally held at the stadium was announced by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on his social media.

"Calling on all Malaysians to come down to Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil tomorrow night as a sign of our solidarity with the Palestinian people!," Anwar posted on X, along with the poster of the event.

The gathering is one of the many rallies that had recently been organised in the country to show support towards the Palestinians, with the most recent being held on Sunday (22 Oct) that saw several thousand people converging at Dataran Merdeka.

The peaceful rally, themed "Freedom for Palestine," was organised by the non-governmental organisations (NGOs) Viva Palestina Malaysia (VPM) and Humanitarian Care Malaysia (MyCARE).

Another demonstration was also held last Friday (20 Oct) where hundreds protested near Masjid Tabung Haji on Jalan Tun Razak to condemn the lethal attack on Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza.
