'Anwar Triumphs' gives readers insightful account of 10th PM's journey [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: The newly-launched book "Anwar Triumphs: The Ascent of Malaysia's 10th Prime Minister against all Odds" provides readers with an insightful account of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's political journey.

The author, criminal lawyer Mark Trowell KC from Australia, said it unveiled the downfall of Pakatan Harapan coalition and the tumultuous political aftermath following strategic manoeuvres undertaken to secure power.

He said the book title was not only meant to describe Anwar becoming the prime minister, but also to capture the fulfilment of the "reformasi movement".

"The triumph is for the Malaysian people and the reformasi.

"He (Anwar) said he couldn't have done what he did without the support of his wife (Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail)."

He said Dr Wan Azizah maintained that she was just supporting her husband, but she had indeed played a pivotal role in this country's politics.

"She kept their family together while he was in prison and subsequently became the country's first female deputy prime minister."

The 195-page book, published by Marshall Cavendish, is available at all major bookstores nationwide.

Trowell's prior literary works, "The Prosecution of Anwar Ibrahim: The Final Play" and "Anwar Returns: The Final Twist" provide a profound exploration of the intricate narratives of Malaysia's 10th prime minister, offering a unique perspective leading up to his appointment.
