BATU PAHAT: The mysterious disappearance of Mila Sharmila Samsusah, a 32-year-old single mother known as Bella, remains unresolved even after nearly two weeks, despite extensive efforts, including police involvement, to find her.
The mother of a four-year-old boy reportedly left her residence in dark blue batik attire, using her boyfriend's car to go to the launderette at 11.50 pm on Dec 14.
However, the woman has gone missing since then, and her mobile phone is unreachable, with WhatsApp messages indicating only one checkmark.
Surprisingly, the clothes intended for washing at the launderette were found in Bella's house the day after she was reported missing.
Following Bella's disappearance, her family members filed two police reports on Dec 16 and 18 at the Batu Pahat district police headquarters (IPD).
Her sister, Norhisham Samsusah, 36, said the police had asked the concerned family to be patient as the investigation into Bella's disappearance is still ongoing.
She expressed having a premonition about her sister's disappearance, sensing something challenging to decipher, especially since this is not a typical missing person case.
"A few days ago, I was informed by the police that there was a development regarding Bella, but what was meant was not further explained.
"I know my sister, and there is a possibility that she is still in this area, but we do not know her location.
"The police have recently requested Bella's belongings, such as a toothbrush, for further investigation," she said when met at her home in Taman Soga today.
Norhisham claimed her sister did not go to the laundromat in Simpang Rantai; instead, she went in a different direction with her 24-year-old boyfriend.
The information stemmed from the closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) footage on the premises, which failed to capture any glimpse of Bella on the day of the incident.
"In fact, I found out that her boyfriend dropped Bella near a Thai tom yam shop on Jalan Kenangan, Kampung Bahagia, because they argued," she said.
Bella's disappearance, as mentioned by Norhisham, impacted their plans to return to their father's hometown in Kuala Selangor for this school holiday.
Meanwhile, Norhisham mentioned that those who came to Bella's house at approximately 9.50 am on Dec 15 were met with surprise upon finding the laundry basket she was supposed to take for washing inside her house.
"Due to questions arising regarding the discovery of the dirty clothes, we met Bella's neighbour to check the CCTV, and it was seen that her boyfriend was carrying a basket full of clothes into Bella's house," he said.
She claimed that about four minutes later, the man, who was seen alone, immediately left in a white Toyota Vios car.
"What raised our doubts is that on that day (a day after Bella went missing), we used Bella's mobile phone tracking application, and her last location showed she was in front of her house.
"Still, there's uncertainty about whether Bella was inside her boyfriend's car when the man lifted the clothes basket or if the man only had Bella's mobile phone," she said.
