KUALA LUMPUR: Discussions to streamline the implementation of the multi-lane free flow (MLFF) project is set to commence in the first week of the next parliamentary session, said the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
The committee said it had agreed to conduct the proceedings and will also seek input from highway operators regarding the management of the MLFF project.
"Ministries summoned for these proceedings include the Works Ministry and the Malaysian Highway Authority," it said in a statement.
In December, Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi had said substantial improvements in the project's implementation were necessary.
He had said it was important to give an opportunity for all highway concessionaires to reach a collective decision on the matter.
Nanta had also emphasised that these planned improvements were strategically devised to ensure not only the seamless implementation of the MLFF but also to maximise its overall benefits extended to the public.
On another matter, the PAC said it has completed proceedings on all seven issues selected from the 2022 Auditor General's Report.
The issues include the management of the Langkawi Development Authority (Lada), Foreign Workers Integrated Management System (ePPAx) and Foreign Workers Centralised Management System (FWCMS), and UiTM Holdings Sdn Bhd.
In addition, proceedings concerning the Flood Forecasting and Warning Programme, forest management and environmental impact, and dilapidated school improvement and redevelopment were also completed.
