JOHOR BARU: Johoreans' resounding gesture of respect and admiration were extended to His Majesty the King of Malaysia today.
The sentiment resonating across the state echoes a profound belief in Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar's ability to steer the nation into a new era.
Johor Health and Unity Committee chairman Ling Tian Soon said the newly elected King of Malaysia has the capacity to guide the nation into a new era, particularly in the realm of politics.
"The confidence among Johoreans is rooted in the firm conviction that Tuanku Sultan Ibrahim will usher in a period of stability for our country.
"Under Tuanku's guidance, Malaysia will experience strengthened bonds of camaraderie and unity among its people, while fostering a sense of solidarity nationwide," he added.
Ling is optimistic that Sultan Ibrahim will provide clear direction for the nation, particularly in the economic sphere.
With His Majesty's leadership, it is anticipated that Malaysia's economic landscape will witness a solid bastion which will pave the way for prosperity and progress.
Under the ruler's reign, His Majesty is anticipated to further enhance diplomatic relations while fostering ties with other nations, through his adept diplomacy ties.
It would bolster Malaysia's global standing while catalysing advancements in trade and economic development.
Meanwhile, Johor Youth Council president Aznan Tamin said over 100 council members gathered at the Senai Airport Royal Hanger to catch a glimpse of the Sultan boarding his private plane to Kuala Lumpur for the Oath-Taking Ceremony held at Istana Besar.
Aznan, who is also the Tanjung Surat assemblyman said the council members left their designated districts as early as 4am this morning, to ensure that they will be able make it on time to the hanger to bid farewell to their beloved ruler.
"We are proud that Sultan Ibrahim was elected as the 17th King, and wanted to "witness his departure which is historic to all of us."
The crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim's appointment as the Regent of Johor is also something that we are totally proud of, and we believe he will follow his father's footsteps," he said, adding that Tunku Ismail is the royal patron of the youth council.
Meanwhile, Johor State Council for Youth with Disabilities president Razif Rahman said His Majesty appointment as the King of Malaysia was aspired and desired by Johoreans.
Razif, who lost his leg in an accident several years ago, said he left Kota Tinggi at 5am this morning to ensure he could see the ruler leaving for Kuala Lumpur.
Sultan Ibrahim begins his reign as the country's 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong today.
