KUALA LUMPUR: Singer and actor Alif Satar was featured in a promotional music video to encourage Malaysians to register in the Central Database Hub (Padu).
Padu, which was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Tuesday, is a government database containing detailed individual and household profiles of all citizens in the country.
Titled "Alif Satar - PADU (Official Music Video)", the video has garnered over 5,000 views and was posted on Economy Ministry's Facebook and YouTube channels.
"Come, all Malaysians aged 18 and above are encouraged to register and check their data on the Padu portal through the website https://www.padu.gov.my," the caption said.
The video showcased the website's user interface and various features as well as people of all ages going about their daily lives.
Padu acts as a national database of socio-economic information for every household in the country, providing regular analytics with a comprehensive store of data updated in "near real-time."
The development of Padu was intended to allow for data-driven policymaking and decision-making while enabling targeted policy implementation.
Malaysians will have until March 31 this year to update their details on the platform.
