KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain continued his series of surprise visits to the Ipoh police headquarters yesterday.
'Aman satu on the air', the callsign referring to the number one person at Bukit Aman, echoed through the radio channels, surprising officers at the Ipoh IPD yesterday.
Razarudin, through a TikTok post, said he took the opportunity to meet and greet the officers at the station.
He also advised all officers in the field through the IPD Ipoh command centre (DCC) radio at the Tambun police station.
"Supervisors, fulfil your duties and responsibilities diligently. Ensure that all callsigns are reported, and if officers in the field apprehend anyone or conduct checks, report to the DCC.
"I urge all officers in the field to work sincerely, take care of yourselves, ensure safety and take care of the community. Thank you everyone," he said to all DCC officers in Ipoh via radio.
In the three-minute, 28-second video, he was seen inspecting logbooks, and personnel's notebooks and even inspecting quarters, including toilets and refrigerators.
"The opportunity to meet and greet with officers and members on duty in the field is a continuous effort that I will undertake to uphold the image of this beloved force.
"My appreciation goes to all the officers in the field. Continue your excellent efforts in serving religion, race and country," he said.
Razarudin's action of going down to the field to monitor and see firsthand the tasks of members in the field received praise from the public.
Many believed that the actions of the top cop will boost the morale and integrity of the members and police officers as a whole.
On Feb 10, the nation's top police officer conducted a surprise visit to the Kajang police headquarters command centre (DCC).
Razarudin made it again on another surprise check at the Nilai police headquarters DCC as a follow-up to his prior visit to the Kajang DCC.
