KUALA LUMPUR: A former civil servant who claimed that she lost more than RM30,000 in her Tabung Haji (TH) account has apologised to the pilgrimage fund.
In a statement, TH said it met the complainant, Datu Jabidah Monseri in Kuching Sarawak to explain the matter to her.
Previously, TH clarified that the funds withdrawn from her Tabung Haji account were actually transferred to her bank account.
This came after Datu Jabidah, 66, claimed there was only RM1,816.74 in her Tabung Haji account where she had kept some RM31,000.
However, TH's checks revealed there was no foul play and that the money was transferred to Datu Jabidah's bank account.
"She expressed regret over her claims and apologised. TH accepted her apology and thanked her for her cooperation."
TH said it had a safe system to manage deposits and that it prioritised operational security and integrity.
"The THiJARI online platform was developed with security features that meet the standards and best practices of applications used by banks."
Depositors with queries related to suspicious transactions can call TH's Contact Centre Hotline at 03-6207 1919.
Meanwhile, Datu Jabidah, in a statement, conceded that she was wrong about the facts of her case.
"As such, I retract everything I have said about Tabung Haji and apologise for it. I regret the inconvenience caused by my remarks and the impact they had on Tabung Haji".
