KUALA LUMPUR: The police is mulling to establish a new department on cyber technology specifically focusing on digital crime and increasingly complex technologies.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the task and responsibility of the police are becoming increasingly challenging and complex.
He hopes the government would consider their proposal born out of sincere intentions to provide the best service for the public.
"Digital technology has revolutionised the world and the landscape of our daily lives. Moreover, technological advancement has also contributed to the diversity of new crime trends, including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.
