Teen brothers killed in hit and run were supposed to buy Raya clothes tonight

SUNGAI SIPUT: Norzalifa Mohd Yusof began her morning looking forward to shopping for Hari Raya clothes for her four children at night.

But her wish will never come through. Just hours ago, the mother-of-four laid to rest her two sons who were killed in a hit-and-run on their way to school.

Ahmad Zuhal Norazlan, 17, and his younger brother, Ahmad Marikh Norazlan, 13, were killed when a four-wheel-drive rammed into the motorcycle they were on.

They were killed on the spot.

"Adik (Marikh) was excited about the coming festivities and he'd always ask what our theme for Hari Raya, what colour clothes we would wear," said a distraught Norzalifa after burying her sons in Kampung Perik, Enggor.

She told reporters that Marikh was also looking forward to wearing his new clothes to school for a Hari Raya party.

The family planned to do their Hari Raya shopping on Wednesday but changed their plans as her husband was too tired after work.

"Last night we thought of going but we were all watching a show on TV. So we decided to go tonight."

Norzalifa said during sahur this morning, Marikh again asked what the family's Hari Raya theme was.

"I told him we hadn't made a decision yet. I said 'Wait for me to pick up my salary, then we'll go shopping'," she said.

She said last night Marikh, her youngest child, playfully squabbled with her and asked for her to cook tempoyak to break fast.

Police are searching for the driver and owner of the four-wheel-drive vehicle, who fled the scene.
