KOTA KINABALU: Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh is a disgrace and should not be tolerated, said Tan Sri Anifah Aman.
The former Umno supreme council member was referring to Dr Akmal who is accused of escalating racial tensions among Malaysians for incessantly harping on the KK Mart socks issue.
Dr Akmal was detained by police after arriving at Kota Kinabalu International airport here at 10.30am to obtain a statement over an incident in Kelantan.
Anifah, a four-term Sabah member of parliament, said: "It is a shame, disgraceful."
When asked about the suggestion whether the Sabah government should ban him from entering the state, Anifah said it is a good proposal.
"It is a good suggestion (to ban them), as he has caused racial disunity, in which we should not tolerate people like that," said Anifah, who is also senator and Invest Sabah chairman during an Iftar programme at a hotel here.
