KLIA shooting: Suspect's wife 'still traumatised', bodyguard remains unconscious

KUALA LUMPUR: A personal bodyguard who was shot at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) arrival hall yesterday was still unconscious last night.

This was revealed by the woman who he was assigned to protect, Farah Md Isa or Farah Cie, through a Facebook posting last night.

"I apologise for the many messages that went unreplied. I'm still traumatised by the incident that happened right in front of my eyes.

"My personal bodyguard is still unconscious. Let's together pray for Along to regain his health," she said.

Yesterday, in the 1.20am incident, a man fired two shots at his wife at the entrance of the arrival hall but missed, with one of the shots hitting the victim, who was one of her two bodyguards.

The suspect fled in a car parked at level two of Block C.

Federal Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said police had launched a manhunt and urged the suspect Hafizul Harawi, 38, to turn himself in.

He added that police had roped in CID personnel in neighbouring states for the operation, which will cover the country's border areas.
