Lumut helicopter crash: Victims of Lumut copter crash identified [NSTTV]

KUALA LUMPUR: The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) has identified the 10 victims of the helicopter crash in Lumut, Perak, this morning.

RMN, in a statement, expressed its condolences to the victims' next of kin.

It said four crew members and three passengers were on board the M503-3 Maritime Operations Helicopter (HOM).

The crews and passengers are as follows:

1. Squadron 503 commanding officer Commander Muhammad Firdaus Ramli;

2. Lieutenant Commander Wan Rezaudeen Kamal Wan Zainal Abidin;

3. Lieutenant Commander Mohammad Amirulfaris Mohamad Marzukhi;

4. Warrant Officer II TLR (AQM) Muhammad Faisol Tamadun;

5. Warrant Officer II TNL Noorfarahimi binti Mohd Saedy (passenger);

6. Petty Officer TNL Noor Rahiza Anuar (passenger); and,

7. Able Seaman I JJM Joanna Felicia daughter of Rohna (passenger).

Three crew members were on board the Fennec M502-6. They are:

1. Squadron 502 commanding officer Commander Muhamad Amir Mohamad

2. Lieutenant Sivasutan Thanjappan

3. Warrant Officer II TMK Mohd Shahrizan Mohd Termizi

Earlier today, two armed forces helicopters crashed following a mid-air collision over the naval base in Lumut.

All 10 crew members on board both helicopters died.

The helicopters collided during a mid-air manoeuvre in a flypast training for the RMN's 90th anniversary celebration.

The RMN has established an investigation board to probe the incident.
