MUAR: A motorcyclist and his Singaporean pillion rider were killed in an accident along Km130.1 of the North-South Expressway (northbound) on Christmas Eve.

The 28-year-old man and the Singaporean woman, 29, succumbed to severe injuries in the 5.24pm crash after the rider lost control of his motorcycle and collided with the guardrails at the centre of the highway.

The impact caused the rider to fall onto the right lane of the northbound expressway, while the woman was thrown into the opposite direction, landing in the southbound lane.
