KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia today has cancelled 21 flights to and from Kuching, Sibu, and Bintulu following the eruption of Mount Ruang.
The affected flights are AK5202, AK5203, AK5876, AK5877, AK5204, AK5246, AK5247, AK5205,AK5232,AK6190, AK6191, AK6056, AK6057,AK5414,AK1775,AK1776,AK6351,AK6340, AK6341, AK6463 and AK6181.
The airline said affected passengers had been offered to choose another flight within 30 days of the original departure date.
Guests who opted to get credit into their AirAsia Reward account can redeem them for future travel with the airline within 730 calendar days from the issuance date.
The travel date of the new booking can fall on any date within the published flight schedule on airasia.com.
"Guests travelling to and from the affected destinations are encouraged to check their registered email and mobile phones for cancellation notifications.
"AirAsia guests travelling to and from these destinations today are also encouraged to check their latest flight status at airasia.com/flightstatus," the statement said.
