PUTRAJAYA: All Malaysians in the Flores Island region of East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, are safe following the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki, said the Foreign Ministry.
According to BuletinTV3, the eruption, which caused significant ash clouds, has led to the closure of airports in affected areas.
Nevertheless, Wisma Putra advised Malaysians in Indonesia to remain vigilant.
"Malaysians residing in or visiting Indonesia are advised to remain vigilant and stay updated through local authorities and reliable news sources.
"Malaysians who have not registered their presence in Indonesia are encouraged to do so via e-Konsular to ensure prompt assistance and access to the latest information," it said in a statement.
