Retiree scammed out of RM25,000 by man driving Lamborghini

PETALING JAYA: Police are looking for a man who allegedly duped a 78-year-old retiree into withdrawing RM25,000 from his savings and surrendering the cash to him.

A police report was received by the Petaling Jaya District Police Headquarters' Commercial Crime Investigation Division.

According to the report, the retiree was approached by a local man offering assistance, purportedly to "manage a government aid".

The suspect took the victim to his home in SS2/6, Seapark in his green Lamborghini, and then to a local bank.

He then asked the victim to withdraw RM25,000 from his savings and surrender the cash to him.

He then took the victim to a bank in Kepong and left him there, supposedly to get government aid. The suspect then disappeared.

Police are looking for the suspect, and request that any information regarding the case be forwarded to the investigating officer, Inspector Gashwinpal Singh Sukhdev Singh, at 016-3649168.

Police have also advised the public to be more vigilant and to not fall for any offers and deals that sound too good to be true.
