KUALA KUBU BAHARU: Pakatan Harapan (PH) has retained the Kuala Kubu Baharu state seat in Selangor.
PH's Pang Sock Tao won 14,000 votes defeating Perikatan Nasional's Khairul Azhari Saut who gained 10,131 votes while Parti Rakyat Malaysia's Hafizah Zainuddin secured 152 votes and independent candidate Nyau Ke Xin secured 188.
Pang leads with a majority of 3,869.
The official result for the Kuala Kubu Baharu state assembly was announced by returning officer Yuhanas Auree Kamaruddin at 9.49 pm at the Hulu Selangor District Sports Complex Multipurpose Hall.
The by-election recorded a turnout of 61.51 per cent of voters.
A total of 263 votes were rejected.
The late Kuala Kubu Baharu assemblyman Lee Kiong Hiong of the DAP in last year's Selangor state election had retained the seat with a majority of 4,119 votes in a four-corner fight.
