KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning in six states across Malaysia until 9pm today.
In a statement posted on its website, MetMalaysia said thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected over the states of Kedah, Kelantan, Pahang, Selangor, Sarawak and Sabah.
In Kedah, the districts affected include Kuala Muda and Sik. Meanwhile in Kelantan, three districts would be affected including Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Jeli and Tanah Merah.
Another three districts in Pahang would be affected including Raub, Bentong and Bera.
In Selangor. only one district, Hulu Selangor is expected to be affected.
In Sarawak, the three districts are Mukah (Daro, Matu, Dalat and Mukah), Bintulu (Sebauh), Miri (Beluru, Telang Usan and Marudi) and Limbang (Limbang), while in Sabah, only one district would be affected which is Sandakan (Kinabatangan and Beluran).
