Communications Ministry initiates '1Rumah, 1 Jalur Gemilang' campaign

KUALA LUMPUR: The Communications Ministry will introduce the "1 Rumah, 1 Jalur Gemilang" campaign today to boost patriotic spirit among Malaysians.

Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the practice of flying the Jalur Gemilang, especially during National Month celebrations, must be continuously promoted.

He said this effort should start at home, which is the safest place for families.

"I would like to remind everyone to fly a perfect Jalur Gemilang, one that is not torn, worn out or faded as it reflects our responsibility and love for our country," he said in a speech at the 'Ekspresi Bulan Kebangsaan' launch here today.

Also present were his deputy Teo Nie Ching and Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa.

The event was attended by over 1,000 people, including members of the public, people with disabilities, Madani community, the Malaysiaku Club, university students and public transportation users.

In the same event, the Information Department (JaPen) released a compilation of patriotic and unity songs, featuring 22 songs available for free download on the official Merdeka360 portal.

Various activities were held, including national exhibitions, cultural performances, photo booths, 360-degree cameras, children's colouring contests, merdeka expression segments, miniature exhibitions themed around independence, traditional games and traditional clothing displays.
