Education reform bolstered by 6 task forces, says Fadhlina

KANGAR: The country's education reform is bolstered in various aspects through the establishment of six task forces or special committees focused on specific areas of teaching and learning for teachers and students.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said that to ensure the government's education reform efforts run smoothly, the six task forces have been created.

"At our level, education reform is progressing with the creation of six special task forces, each dedicated to a specific aspect of education reform.

"We have task forces related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), Digital Education, Pre-School, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Curriculum Intervention, upholding Bahasa Malaysia and strengthening the command of English.

"These six special committees will act within the context of national education reform," she said during a working visit to SMA al-Alawiyah here today.

Fadhlina was commenting on a statement by the Regent of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, during the proclamation ceremony of SMK Arau as SMK Syed Hussein yesterday.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin had urged all parties to contribute to achieving quality educational transformation and to provide meaningful and high-impact education to the nation's future generations.

She added that Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra's call had a significant impact on the country's education system, guiding the ministry to remain committed to focusing on education, especially in Perlis.

"During my two-day visit to Perlis, we focused on several important agendas, including special education.

"We also visited Kolej Vokasional (KV) Kangar and made contributions to KV Kangar, which I believe will have a significant impact, particularly on TVET-related education.

"We also observed and supported another crucial agenda in digital education and artificial intelligence (AI) technology," she said.

Fadhlina said that overall, the working visit to Perlis was impressive, adding that Perlis was one of the states with strong support for STEM education.
